"We salute our community Heroes who protect and serve our community selflessly and honorably every day.  I am in awe of the attitude of the officers of the NYPD as they faithfully and fearlessly carry out their duties with unwavering commitment in the epicenter of this pandemic.  The NYPD has lost over 30 officers due to COVID - 19, who served on the front lines, and countless others have contracted the virus.  It is our privilege to offer a small token of appreciation to these men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.  We will continue to support our community Heroes in any way we can"
